Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about WorkClaw — covering basics, security, skills, connections, teams, Slack integration, billing, and privacy.

What is WorkClaw?

WorkClaw is an AI agent management platform built on OpenClaw. It provides your team with a fleet of digital teammates called Claws that can research, draft, analyze data, manage calendars, and automate tasks. Unlike raw AI frameworks, WorkClaw wraps everything in an accessible interface designed for non-technical professionals. See Getting Started for a full introduction.

Do I need technical skills to use WorkClaw?

No. WorkClaw is designed for people who are comfortable with technology but are not developers. All agent configuration, skill installation, and connection management happens through the web dashboard. If you can use a SaaS product, you can use WorkClaw.

How do I create my first Claw?

Navigate to your workspace, click Create Claw, and follow the guided setup. You will configure the agent's identity, personality, and initial skills. The Quickstart Guide walks through every step.

What are Skills and how do I add them?

Skills are modular packages that give your Claw new capabilities -- web search, document generation, data analysis, and more. Browse the marketplace under Skills, click Install, and the skill is immediately available. You can also create custom skills for your team's specific workflows.

What is a Connection and why does my Claw need one?

A Connection authenticates your Claw with an external service like Google, Slack, or a custom API. Without a connection, the Claw cannot interact with that service. Connections are scoped and revocable. See Managing Connections.

How does WorkClaw keep my data secure?

Security is built into every layer. Each Claw runs in an isolated workspace. Sensitive values are stored in the encrypted Vault and never appear in logs or build artifacts. All communication uses TLS. Access is controlled through roles and permissions.

Can I limit what my Claw can access?

Yes. Vault scopes and connection permissions let you control exactly which services, secrets, and data each Claw can reach. You can also restrict skills to prevent agents from performing certain actions.

How do Teams work in WorkClaw?

A Team is the organizational boundary. Members share access to Claws, workspaces, and billing. Roles -- Owner, Admin, and Member -- control who can manage settings, trigger deployments, and invite others. See Team Management.

How do I invite someone to my team?

Go to Settings > Team > Invite, enter their email, and choose a role. They receive a link to join. See Inviting Members for details.

Can my Claw work in Slack?

Yes. The Slack integration lets your Claw appear as a bot in your workspace. Install the app, bind channels, and configure DM routing. Team members interact with the Claw directly in Slack.

What Slack permissions does WorkClaw require?

WorkClaw requests minimal OAuth scopes: reading messages in bound channels, posting responses, and receiving DMs. It does not request workspace-level admin access. See Workspace Setup for the full list.

How does billing work?

WorkClaw offers tiered plans based on message volume, number of skills, and team size. See Billing for plan comparisons and pricing details.

Can I export my data from WorkClaw?

Yes. Conversation history, files, and agent configuration can be exported from your workspace settings. For bulk exports or compliance requests, contact support.

Does WorkClaw store my conversations?

Conversations are stored in your workspace to maintain context and agent memory. They are encrypted at rest and accessible only to team members with the appropriate role.
