WorkClaw Quickstart Guide

Get up and running with WorkClaw in minutes. Sign up, create your team, configure your first Claw, install skills, connect your apps, and start chatting.

How do I get started with WorkClaw?

You can go from sign-up to chatting with your first AI agent in under five minutes. This guide walks through every step.

Step 1: Create your account

Go to workclaw.com and sign up with your email or an existing Google account. You will be asked to set a display name and optionally add a profile photo. This name is how your Claws and teammates will identify you.

Step 2: Create or join a team

After signing up, you will either create a new team or join an existing one.

  • Creating a team: Choose a team name and you will be assigned the Owner role, giving you full control over billing, members, and agent configuration.
  • Joining a team: If a teammate has already set up WorkClaw, they can send you an invite link. Click the link to join with the Member role.

See Teams for more on roles and permissions.

Step 3: Meet your System Claw

Every team comes with a System Claw -- a shared AI agent that is ready to use out of the box. The System Claw has a default set of skills and is accessible to every team member. You can start chatting with it immediately.

If you want an agent tailored to a specific workflow, you can create a custom Claw later.

Step 4: Install skills

Skills are modular capability packages that expand what your Claw can do. To install skills:

  1. Navigate to the Skills section in your Claw's settings.
  2. Browse the marketplace or search for a specific skill.
  3. Click Install on the skills you want.

Some skills have requirements -- for example, a Google Calendar skill requires a Google connection. WorkClaw will prompt you to set up any missing requirements during installation.

See Skills to learn more about skill types and packs.

Step 5: Connect your apps

Connections let your Claw interact with external services like Google Workspace, Slack, and custom APIs.

  1. Go to the Connections page.
  2. Select the app you want to connect.
  3. Authorize access through OAuth or provide API credentials.

Each connection can be scoped as private (only you) or team (shared across all members). See Connections for details.

Step 6: Start chatting

Open the Chat interface and send your Claw a message. Try something like:

  • "Summarize the key points from my last three emails."
  • "Schedule a meeting with the marketing team for next Tuesday."
  • "Draft a follow-up email to the client we spoke with yesterday."

Your Claw will use its installed skills and connections to carry out the task. It will preview any actions -- like sending an email -- before executing them, so you stay in control.
