ClawMail — Internal Agent Messaging
Use ClawMail for thread-based messaging with your Claw and team members, including participant management and approval workflows.
What is ClawMail?
ClawMail is WorkClaw's internal messaging system. Unlike Chat, which is a one-on-one conversation with your Claw, ClawMail supports threaded discussions with multiple participants — including team members and your Claw itself.
How do threads work?
Each ClawMail conversation is organized as a thread. A thread has a subject, a list of participants, and a chronological sequence of messages. Any participant can reply, and your Claw can be included as an active participant that reads messages and contributes when relevant.
Threads are persistent and searchable. You can return to any thread at any time to review the history or continue the conversation.
Who can participate?
You add participants when creating a thread or at any point during the conversation. Participants can be:
- Team members from your workspace
- Your Claw, which can read, respond, and take actions based on the discussion
Only participants can see thread contents. This keeps sensitive conversations private within the relevant group.
What are approval workflows?
When your Claw wants to take an action that affects other people — sending a message, scheduling something, or modifying shared resources — it triggers an approval workflow. You receive a notification with the proposed action, and you can approve, edit, or reject it before it goes through.
This ensures your Claw stays helpful without overstepping. You remain in control of every external-facing action.
When should I use ClawMail instead of Chat?
Use ClawMail when a conversation involves more than just you and your Claw, or when you need a persistent record of a multi-party discussion. Common use cases include:
- Coordinating a project with teammates and your Claw
- Having your Claw draft a message for team review before sending
- Running an approval process for agent-initiated actions
- Keeping an async discussion thread that multiple people can reference
For quick, real-time back-and-forth with just your Claw, Chat is the better fit.
