How to Install Skills
Step-by-step guide to browsing the WorkClaw marketplace, checking skill requirements, and installing skills on your Claws.
How do I browse the Skills marketplace?
Open your WorkClaw dashboard and navigate to Settings > Skills > Marketplace. The marketplace is organized by category — Communication, Productivity, Project Management, Knowledge, and more. Use the search bar to find a specific skill by name or keyword, or filter by category and skill type (system, third-party, or team).
Each listing shows the skill name, publisher, install count, average rating, and a short description. Click any listing to see full details including version history, required connections, and user reviews.
What should I check before installing a skill?
Before you install, review these details on the skill's listing page:
- Requirements — What connections and permissions the skill needs. Some skills require OAuth connections (like Google or Slack), while others need API keys stored in your vault.
- Compatibility — Confirm the skill works with your current plan tier. Some third-party skills require a Team or Enterprise plan.
- Permissions — Review the scopes the skill requests. A calendar skill might need read/write access to events but not contacts.
- Reviews — Check what other teams report about reliability and usefulness.
See Skill Requirements for a deeper look at the REQUIREMENTS.yaml format.
How do I install a skill on a specific Claw?
Skills are installed per-Claw, not workspace-wide. This gives you control over which agents have which capabilities.
- From the skill's marketplace listing, click Install.
- A dialog appears listing your available Claws. Select one or more Claws to receive the skill.
- If the skill requires connections that don't exist yet, WorkClaw walks you through setting them up. See Connections Overview for details.
- Click Confirm to complete the installation.
The skill becomes active immediately. You can verify by opening the Claw's settings and checking its Installed Skills list.
Can I install the same skill on multiple Claws?
Yes. Each Claw gets its own independent instance of the skill with its own configuration. Installing Gmail on your support Claw and your executive-assistant Claw gives each one separate access — they don't share drafts, threads, or state.
How do I uninstall a skill?
Go to Settings > Skills, find the skill in the Installed tab, click the overflow menu, and select Uninstall. Choose which Claw to remove it from. The Claw loses access immediately, but your configuration is preserved for 30 days in case you reinstall. Any in-progress tasks using the skill will fail gracefully with a notification.
